WEBOct 14, 2023 · It could be as early as November 1st, given that sister station WLIT-93.9 Chicago flipped on November 1st last year and supposedly saw an immediate ratings spike. I-Heart may decide to do multiple Christmas flips around the country on November 1st, given how successful WLIT was with an early flip last year.

WEBJul 20, 2021 · I suspect it is more for publicity. Sunny has done Christmas in July bits before, but they were much smaller and were done as a competition. They would tell you when one Christmas song would play during the day and you'd have to be the correct caller. That was it. This seems like it will be bigger than that.

And of course, getting a pre-set button is its own separate reward. As far as the risk idea, I can't imagine folks being so angry with 106.1 for going all-Christmas that they won't return.

The AM station went from a no-show in the ratings, to a 1.3 share in the fall book. The next year, it pulled a 2.1 share, and in 1991 it pulled a 1.6 before the station flipped to Radio Aahs.
