WEBJun 21, 2021 · BPE uses their own blocks that are brand new and they are made in the USA. The cheap stuff they sell does use a typical .040" GM block. Their warranty isnt just valid in NB either. Its valid to anyone, anywhere at any service shop that is certified, unlike GM where you have to go to the dealer to service the engine.

WEBIf this is a real Targetmaster, and not a Goodwrench, it has a really anemic cam, even more anemic than the 3896929 cam used in the LM1 engines of the late 70s. The flip side is that the Targetmaster had better heads, and more compression than the LM1, so it makes significantly better HP than the LM1 in stock trim.

In 1977 the compression was 8.5:1, rated horsepower 170 @ 3800 rpm, Torque 270 ft/lbs. @ 2400 rpm. In 1978 compression was lowered to 8.2:1.

WEBJul 2, 2009 · 041's are a 1.94/1.50" valve 64cc head from the 1969 295hp 350 and the 1970 300hp 350,, same engine as none of the actual specs changed. The heads are better than low power crate engine heads. When using 64cc heads,,,, Flat top 327 is about 9.5:1 compression. Flat top 350 is about 10:1.
