No top tier fuel perhaps but a lot of guys recommend running additive to boost cetane along with lubrication and anti gel...I run additive myself every tank, your fuel system will thank you. Guys also run 2 stroke oil to add lubrication to the fuel. Gideon.

WEBFeb 13, 2021 · A few weeks ago I wondered out loud about who made the GM "ACDelco Diesel Fuel Conditioner" that GM recommends if you're not able to use 'Top Tier' diesel. With a little sleuthing I figured it out. The stuff is actually "RACOR POWERSHOT+ DIESEL FUEL CONDITIONER". Comes in the same 11oz bottles, has the same MSDS.

Try to get your diesel from the same place that does a high volume of diesel. This will help ensure you are not getting a bad product that maybe have been in the tanks a long time and developed water or other issues.

WEBNov 8, 2022 · You're only going to find that quality of fuel with Top Tier, 'Premium Diesel', or R99 Renewable Diesel*. The fact that the owner's manual says to use a fuel conditioner is good enough for me to always do so if I can't get Top Tier diesel or R99. I use Diesel Kleen with Cetane Boost, because it's widely available; even at Lowe's.
