I used a thin plastic pick to get the dry thermal paste out between the GPU and HBM2 modules. Applied a good layer spread on the GPU+HBM2 and on the copper heatsink base where it touches.

By the way, I have 2 other Vega 64 AIR that I did on crossfire and no coil whine on all 3 PSUs (that's before the first one died). Just the LC 64 Vega gave me coil whine on the first two PSUs.

WEBFeb 24, 2021 · Vega cards have high power spikes which can cause any lower wattage PSU to trip over current protection and shut off. Even undervolting may not help and 64 LC is extra power hungry even compared to regular Vega 64. I would not get Vega 64 with PSU lower than 750W even if you undervolt.

WEBApr 4, 2019 · With my 1700x and VEGA 64 LC at max I pulled 520 w or so. Keep in mind teh efficiency rating on the psu, it can't deliver full 650 w, to the system. So with a 650 w psu you would be getting close to the limit. But 750 should be fine.

WEBSep 13, 2020 · The Vega 64 LC was for the most part faster than a 1080. I literally said in my comment that the card still held up well by today's standards, but that its old. I never said it was slow (although it is starting to lag behind if you compare it to a 3080).
