When you look around you’d think you were in New England or the Outer Banks. The setting is lovely with a historic lighthouse and WW2 artillery site. A fantastic place to bird watch Full review by Sleepymeandvyou

They are probably purple martins. When it is sunny, it is difficult to discern the colors. That is what those houses are meant to attract.

I sent the answer from yahoo days ago. They are purple martins. The colors can be hard to distinguish in the sun. The apartment style bird box is meant to attract them.
