Amazon is increasing hourly wages for all distribution and transportation employees companywide by an average of $1.50 an hour, the technology giant announced early Wednesday. In Utah’s capital, hourly employees will all make an additional $2.25 an hour starting in October, or roughly $4,000 more a year.

Amazon.com is raising the pay of its fulfillment and transportation staff in the United States by at least $1.50 an hour and handing out free Prime memberships as benefits, it said on Wednesday.

Hundreds of thousands of Amazon workers across the U.S. are getting a raise, with those in Utah seeing a bigger pay bump than most.

Amazon workers held a rally in front of the company’s warehouse in St. Peters on Wednesday morning. The employees called on Amazon to raise the minimum wage to $25 an hour and demand safer work conditions.

Amazon (AMZN), embroiled in return-to-office drama, has announced plans to raise wages for its hourly warehouse staff and provide them with free Prime memberships.
