A man is facing hate crime charges after police say he allegedly struck a Rabbi with a wooden stake in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Montgomery County police are investigating after a child was hit by a vehicle in Silver Spring on Wednesday morning. The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) told DC News Nows that on Oct. 16 just before 8 a.

According to a police statement, “The investigation revealed that the victim, who is a rabbi, was walking on the sidewalk when he encountered the suspect.” The suspect, identified as 47-year-old Junior Michael Reece, allegedly swung the wooden stake at the rabbi, striking him for “unknown reasons.”

There, a Rabbi told police that he was walking down the sidewalk when a man, later identified as 47-year-old Junior Michael Reece, swung a wooden stake at him and hit him for unknown reasons. Reece then left the area.
