As Boeing's Machinists return after eight weeks on strike, experts predict the work stoppage strained finances for the company and region, but likely ended before the cost got prohibitive.

Machinists are set to fully return this week, but Boeing has said it'll take weeks for factories to get fully rolling. The company reported Tuesday it delivered just 14 jets in October — its lowest mark since November 2020. Boeing is also continuing with plans to cut about 17,000 jobs.

In response to these declines, the jet maker has all but eliminated its pension program, one issue of many that has angered its union. Ortberg has raised $24 billion in equity to shore up the company’s finances, according to the Wall Street Journal.
