MHA's decision to deploy additional CAPF in Manipur comes within three days after an encounter on Monday between suspected Kuki militants and the CRPF in the Jiribam.

At least 10 suspected militants were killed in a fierce gunfight with the CRPF after insurgents in camouflage uniforms, armed with sophisticated weapons, fired indiscriminately at the Borobekra police station and the adjacent CRPF camp at Jakuradhor in Jiribam district.

Official said both Meitei and Kuki-Zo groups were desperately trying to attack each other especially because of the incidents over the last week
