Whatever the reason, a lot of people tuned in to see Notre Dame visit the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday. According to The Athletic’s Stewart Mandel, the game was the eighth-most watched college football game of the weekend, with 2.3 million people tuning into CBS to watch.

Miami Ohio faces No. 17 Notre Dame on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024 (9/21/24) in a Week 4 college football game at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana.

After getting upset a week before, Notre Dame made a statement against Purdue in Week 3. The Fighting Irish pounded Purdue 66-7 -- their highest point total and biggest victory margin of the 88-game series.

It opened with impressive wins at Florida and against FAMU before temporarily facing a challenger from outside of the Sunshine State. Ball State didn't fare any better last week, though, losing 62-0 last week as Heisman frontrunner Cam Ward threw for 345 yards and five touchdowns.
