Around 2.1 lakh Ganesh idols were immersed in Mumbai over 11 days, with over 37,000 on the final day. Beginning on September 7 and ending on September 17, the festival saw idols immersed in various water bodies to avoid pollution.

A BMC official said the final stage of Ganesh idol immersions is underway and processions of big samitis, including Lalbaugcha Raja, are complete.

On Anant Chaturdashi, the Ganesh visarjan in Mumbai was quiet and orderly with 675 idols immersed by noon, according to officials.
