At least 11 pro-Palestine protesters who barricaded an administration building at the University of Minnesota in the US have been detained.

Organizers renamed a university building "Halimy Hall," commemorating a 19-year-old Palestinian who reportedly died in August during an Israeli airstrike.

The demonstrators arrived around 8:45 a.m. Monday, when they obstructed student pathways, according to the UCLA Police Department.

Another rally, organized by Students for Justice in Palestine, will be taking place on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at the Coffman Memorial Union Theatre.

One person was arrested after UCLA campus police ordered those attending an “unauthorized demonstration” to disperse Monday evening. The pro-Palestine demonstration featured about 40 people, UCLA police said,
