Peak fall foliage is approaching quickly throughout the Southern Tier and colors are rapidly changing. Here are the reports from New York State.

Across Pennsylvania, the leaves are starting to change and both visitors and residents alike are looking for the best places to see the fall foliage. On Thursday, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources released its updated Pennsylvania Fall Foliage map showing the best places to find foliage this week.

The fall weather has certainly arrived in the Pittsburgh area, and peak fall foliage won't be far behind. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' fall foliage report for Oct.

The new report shows 10 counties currently at best color. In the northeastern region, they are Tioga, Bradford, Wyoming, Susquehanna, Lackawanna, Wayne and Pike. In the central region, they are Clearfield and Clinton, and in the southern region, Somerset. Much of the southern region is just starting to change.

It’s what many consider the most beautiful time of the year. Peak foliage will happen here in northwest Pennsylvania from Oct. 17-23. Pennsylvania Department of Conservation forester Ryan Reed said the timing is typical for our region.
