PanOptix experience 4 weeks after cataract surgery & advise
Jul 4, 2021 · There was still some distortion in my vision, straight lines looked slightly bent. Vision kept improving, especially for outdoors and distance vision. Now, a month later my far vision is very good. using an eye chart I have progressed from 20/63 the first days to 20/30 in four weeks.

Sep 8, 2021 · The PanOptix lens acts more like a trifocal lens, providing short-mid-and-long distance viewing, but still suffers from some of the light halos at night, due to its outer “close up rings”. I debated going with two Vivity lenses and reading glasses, but I really LOVED the idea of never needing glasses or contacts.

Dec 25, 2020 · The Alcon PanOptix, and AcrySof IQ Aspheric lenses are blue light filtering, and kind of like yellow shooting glasses, or ski goggles they are claimed to improve vision especially in lower light by filtering the chromatic aberration from the blue light. They are not noticeably yellow though like shooting glasses.

Bad near & intermediate vision after Panoptix Multifocal
Jun 29, 2020 · I had developed cataracts in 2018 at 34 yrs of age in my Dominant Eye. Recently had surgery on 6/18/20 with Alcon Panoptix put in. 3 days later i had pretty good distance 20/30 and holding at that 10 days after surgery. However my near and intermediate is pretty poor. I cant read my phone and anything within 15 feet is blurry.

An IOL power of about +19.0 is used if you have plano 20/20 vision prior to surgery. There is no - power IOLs. They range from a minimum of about +5.0 to as much as +30.

Nov 18, 2014 · May 22, 2022. #1. I really didn't have cataracts (slight in right eye) but convinced my doctor to implant Panoptix lenses in my eyes two and a half years ago. They had just received FDA approval in October 2019 and had been wildly successful in Europe for around five years prior. I can't tell you how these lenses helped my quality of life.
