I like a frequency of 80hz on my Lorch 200 for 1/8" in general. 120hz+ for outside edge welds. 40-50hz for 1/4" although it's on the limit for my amperage. Balance stays around 25% EP for clean new alloy. 30-40% for old cast stuff.

Jan 29, 2021 · Re: Recommend Cheap Basic Tig welder. I have an Everlast 161sth. Works good for the price I paid. I do believe high frequency is a must to get started. Scratch start is a good skill to learn but not if your just starting. Depending on the budget you can look at the 160sth.

Jul 19, 2021 · As for affordable... I bought an older Miller XMT with wirefeeder for £500, and added an Optima pulse pendant later for £300... so that was £800 for a quality pulse MIG... I upgraded recently to a Lorch Saprom S3 speedpulse, which is another level again, absolute dream on aluminium.

350p aluminum welding
May 7, 2019 · In effect, the Optima turns it into a synergic setup. You pick your program (in my case, 0.035 5356) set adaptive arc. Set the wire speed like normal on the feeder for whatever joint thickness (I run anywhere between 350-580 IPM ) and pull the trigger on a scrap piece. then adjust the arc length on the pulse pendant.
Whats the best way to grind aluminum welds flush for
Jan 18, 2016 · After feathering top and sides with the sander taking care to keep the grind flat and not going over the edge, I take a file and blend in the radiuses. Then I wipe down with acetone and further blend everything in with an orbital sander. You probably could have thickened the weld so you would have more to grind down.
Welding aluminum with Lincoln 255?
Apr 7, 2016 · Lincoln make a Binzel MB 36 clone that comes with a 3.6M (12') length that works really well for Aluminium. I suggest sticking to 1.2mm wire as .9mm is harder to feed, you will need to run 1.4mm (.052) tips as well. Straight Argon at 20 LPM should complete the setup.
